INFO
(Slam Magazine) “Good riffs, perfectly stacked vocals and excellent Rock'N Roll sound…Catchy rhythm and atmosphere here shows how the band has a great potential…” (The-Pit.de) “YIEK’s Hard Rock/Blues groove draws distinct similarities to the Canadian group MONSTER TRUCK, however, YIEK utilizes a slightly heavier tone.” (Metal-Temple.com) (Englisch Version) In the interview, guitarist Andy really captured it in a nutshell: "When we come through the boxes, you immediately go and buy a round and stand below the only spotlight in the club." YIEK sounds as if Danko Jones is celebrating a backstage party with Queens of The Stone Age and it appears like the feeling that overcomes you when you get caught crossing the red traffic light." The four guys met by chance at a New Year's Eve party, at which it got very hot: the waiter caught fire and the house had to be evacuated - such an experience creates a strong bond. YIEK - this may not be the most conventional name, yet, it explains best what Malte, Andy, Aram and Jens do - they rock until they drop. At the same time, it is a tribute to the initial stage, in which Andy's shattered Stratocaster from 1969 produced weird feedbacks. YIEK is the onomatopoeic equivalent for the earplug-shredding rehearsal room noise. The four guys quickly noticed that they produced a special musical energy, despite or even because of their different personalities. And this mostly emerges spontaneously: "Hey Aram, give me a beat!", Malte just calls sometimes - and all of them step in. The characteristics of the YIEK-sound are a maximal intensity with a simultaneous catchiness, which is unique through Malte's voice. This especially bangs live. And it doesn't matter whether there are 10 or 1,000 people listening: when YIEK performs, everyone joins in and celebrates. The band and the audience blend together and sometimes, there even are spontaneous undress-actions whereby Andy sometimes can't find his distortion stompbox because of all the flying clothes. The only thing that can be predicted at a YIEK show is that unforeseen events will take place. "... honest, authentic rock with edges and lots of drive" (Rock Hard Magazin) “Rocking it till ear-plug feedback…” (Slam Magazine) “Good riffs, perfectly stacked vocals and excellent Rock'N Roll sound…Catchy rhythm and atmosphere here shows how the band has a great potential…” (Hellmagazine.eu) “The Album The Drive opens up cheeky with two smash hits "Toxication Party" and "Little Bitch", but also with songs like "Spit it out", "5Kingz" or "Going Under - Going Down" - YIEK is doing everything right…” (Breakout Magazine) “… absolutely fun to listen. Melodic, hard and very catchy - it goes directly into your veins…!” (My Revelations) "Generally spoken you can quote to every song on "The Drive" that it has an absolutely live potential… I am totally sure that these songs are hotter than hell in a live situation…" (Metal Only) "In general, however, you can say to almost every song on this record that they have a strong stage potential, and I'm sure live this will be a very hot show…” (Metal Only) "... YIEK can be attested to have made a good / partial strong entrance. The quartet definitely has the potential to get its place in the rock scene ..." (Bleeding 4 Metal) "... Dirty, loud, hard and impulsive, these songs are coming out of the speakers ..." (Metal Glory) "Quickly - with the opener" Toxication Party "(probably the cellar fires, at the party where everyone got to know each other) - you can capture the feel and you can "fight" through the tracks with power and taste. " (Crossfire Metal) "What can be said without a doubt is that the guys have tremendous potential ... because if YIEK comes out of the speakers, you simply nod, catch fire ..." (Legacy Magazin) "The Drive" is dirty and loud, opens the imaginary beer with his teeth, spits the bottle cap on the sticky pub floor and sums the contents on ex… " (Powermetal.de) "The music is simply catchy, just catches my mood as a listener and is fun. ... simple grip enough to work directly and make the spark jump. " (Biotechpunk.de) “As an unknown act - rock the shit out of the place and leave astounding faces within the audience - what every newcomer band dreams about - YIEK are putting it into practice...” (The-Pit.de) “YIEK’s Hard Rock/Blues groove draws distinct similarities to the Canadian group MONSTER TRUCK, however, YIEK utilizes a slightly heavier tone.” (Metal-Temple.com)
